CSR at la Vitre

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)

Bringing proximity everywhere in the world, yes, but not without responsibility.

At la Vitre, we know that every technological innovation has an impact on the environment, on people, and on usage.

Our CSR approach is under construction: we are not perfect, but we are moving forward with the desire to improve!

Concrete actions are already emerging in the design of our product, in the choice of our partners, and in our way of working daily.

What we are already doing to limit our environmental impact

Better controlled energy consumption

  • A complete bundle (86" screen, PC, microphone, camera, soundbar) consumes an average of 806 kWh/year in realistic usage (10h/day, 260 days/year).
  • This is equivalent to the consumption of a dishwasher or a desktop computer used continuously.
  • A discreet mode allows reducing this consumption by 8 to 10%, and programmable standby for the screen or PC is also possible.

Fewer trips, fewer emissions

  • la Vitre allows people to meet remotely as if they were in the same room. Result: fewer trips, fewer emissions.
  • We use it ourselves daily to collaborate between our offices (Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Toronto).

More responsible technology, when possible

  • la Vitre's stand is manufactured in Lyon.
  • The mini-PCs are assembled in Toulouse.
  • Some components are 3D printed on demand to avoid overproduction.
  • Packaging boxes are reused for shipping to limit waste.
  • la Vitre's peer-to-peer connection enables operation without server storage, thus reducing the digital footprint.

What we don't know yet (but we're working on it)

We do not yet have a complete measurement of the carbon footprint of a la Vitre bundle, from its manufacture to its end of life.

Why? Because this data largely depends on information provided by our suppliers or technical partners, and this information is often difficult to obtain.

But we are making progress by questioning our suppliers, trying to optimize impacts related to transport, usage, and recycling.

CSR is also this for us

Beyond the environment, our CSR approach is also expressed in the life of the company:

  • Remote work is authorized for a better work-life balance.
  • Carpooling is encouraged during our business trips or events.
  • We regularly welcome interns and apprentices from all backgrounds.
  • Our offices are designed for everyone's comfort: concentration spaces, break areas, exchange places.
  • Our printer is gathering dust.
  • And every year, during our team raclette... zero waste guaranteed

Small gestures, but they count!

And tomorrow?

We know that CSR is not limited to the energy consumption of a product. It's a question of coherence and continuous improvement.

We plan to:

  • Continue our efforts to make our product more sober, more sustainable.
  • Integrate more CSR best practices into la Vitre's internal operations while listening to employees.
  • Better measure, monitor and share our impacts.
  • Continue to communicate transparently with our clients and partners, about our actions as well as our limitations.
