Translation

✨ Use instant translation for your team to better understand each other, see each other, and stay together, even when languages differ.


Activate translation

To use translation on la Vitre, an administrator must activate it in the advanced settings first. At least one Microsoft Azure key must be available for the Vitres in your space.

These prerequisites are essential before any use.

Use translation

  • When translation is available, the dedicated icon appears in la Vitre toolbar, below the pencil icon.
  • Click on the icon, then choose the language you want to speak from over 60 options.
  • Start translation:
    • What you say appears as text in your language, on your Vitre.
    • The text is then translated into the chosen language and appears on the other Vitres in the same space.
  • To stop, click on Translation icon again.
  • Each la Vitre can choose a different language: thanks to the color dot, everyone follows the conversation thread, effortlessly.

Azure key sharing in the space

  • If one Vitre in your space has a shared Azure key in its settings, the Translation option is shared with all other connected Vitres in the same space.
  • A single configuration is sufficient for all the Vitres in the space. It's simpler and faster in daily use.

Planned developments

Today, translation is speech-to-text. We are working with our partners to soon offer:

  • speech-to-speech translation,
  • a sign language translation option.
